Everyone’s favorite #activistbae is at it again! Jesse Williams has now teamed up with Scholly, a scholarship search tool and college scholarship finder, to help students gain access to untapped, millions of scholarship dollars every year.
Williams says he was inspired to team up with the Scholly after hearing the inspiring story of the company’s founder, Christopher Gray. Gray was able to secure $1.3 million in scholarships (you read that right) through some serious grinding, grit and determination. To make this easier for other students like him, he decided to start Scholly, which earned a spot and a deal on ABC’s Shark Tank. To date, Scholly has accurately matched students more than $50 million in scholarship funds.
“We are thrilled that Jesse Williams has joined our team. He understands the plight of those struggling to pay for college and why it’s vital to help them. His passion and educational background will help more students gain access to the funding they need to change their futures,” says Gray as reported by Ebony. Williams will act as a chief brand ambassador and be a part of the company’s advisory board.
Every year, tuition rates increase, and access to high-quality education becomes harder and harder for those who simply don’t have the means to pay or the resources and knowledge to search. Now, Jesse Williams is using his ever-growing platform to help facilitate that change.
“I’m proud to announce that I’m joining the Scholly team in our mutual pursuit to help more young Americans pay for college,” Williams says. “There is no substitute for equal access — there is no substitute for a quality education. Scholly helps us get there, together.”
