When it comes to hot girl Megan Thee Stallion, Joe Budden appears to be unimpressed.

The 41-year-old media personality took to The Joe Budden Podcast to go in on the “Thot S**t” rapper, The Source reports. After giving listeners an update on the Megan’s back and forth with Tory Lanez and DJ Akademiks on social media, Budden explained that Megan should be stripped of her superstar status because of her album sales.

“You’re not a superstar if you can’t sell an album, what the f**k are we talking about right now,” Budden said, according to The Source.

“What stops her from being a superstar if we’re taking out sales? She ain’t sold s**t,” the podcaster continued, arguing that, while rappers have more endorsement and brand deals than ever before, that should not equate to superstardom.

“Got every brand deal in the world, but also has all the backing from different people,” he said. “She’s got a lot going on. That’s the game today.”

Budden went on to explain that when superstar artists drop new music, other artists fall back.

“When Adele come out you gotta move,” he said. “Nobody does that for Lil Nas X. Nobody does that for the seven Megan Thee Stallion releases that dropped over the last two years.”

Responses to Budden’s hot take were polarized. Some thought the Love & Hip Hop: New York alum was spitting facts, while Megan Thee Stallion’s loyal hotties called Budden a hater.

“Joe Budden is way too comfortable saying that rappers who have actual platinum albums “haven’t sold s**t,” one Twitter user wrote. “If platinum was that easy you would’ve pumped it up bro.”

Another Twitter user shared, “I know y’all don’t like Joe Budden but he’s not lying.”

Budden’s criticism toward Hot Girl Meg comes amid the pretrial hearing in the case against Lanez, who she alleges shot her in the foot in July 2020.

On Feb. 23, DJ Akademiks shared in a since-deleted tweet that evidence showed there was “NO DNA” on the weapon used in the incident, HipHopDX reports. Megan, however, clapped back on Instagram, saying DJ Akademiks is “lying.”

Lanez weighed in as well, calling out Megan Thee Stallion’s boyfriend Pardison Fontaine and saying the only thing Lanez is guilty of is “f**king two best friends.”

According to Rolling Stone, the social media feuding has resulted in the hearing being postponed to April 5.
