IndieWire reports that the alleged victim has been granted a full order of protection against Majors by a judge in New York ahead of the May 8 date Majors is set to appear in court. IndieWire received a statement from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office press secretary Doug Jones, who said, “Today, a judge granted a Full Temporary Order of Protection for the victim, per the People’s request and with the consent of defense counsel. (At the time of arraignment, a Limited Temporary Order of Protection was granted). The next date in the case is May 9 in Part D (4th floor of 100 Centre Street).”

The actor was arrested March 25 at his home in New York City after police came to investigate a domestic dispute with a 33-year-old woman. The woman was described as having “minor injuries to her head and neck” and was taken to the hospital. Majors was charged with harassment, assault and strangulation, however his counsel has claimed that Majors was actually the victim in the case and was innocent regarding domestic abuse charges.

His defense attorney told IndieWire at the time of Majors’ arrest that they are “quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.” They claim that they have video footage, eyewitness accounts, and two written statements by the woman herself recanting her allegations.

However, their argument might be undercut by the fact of the woman’s restraining order. Also undercutting their argument is the previous report by Variety claiming that multiple victims have come forward to work with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

Since the allegations, Majors has been dropped from several film projects. He’s also been dropped by his management and PR agent.
