According to a Variety exclusive, Tyler Perry has tagged Jurnee Smollett to star in what will be his 13th collaboration with Lionsgate, an adaptation of his play The Marriage Counselor.

Smollett will play Judith, “a newlywed marriage counselor who gives great relationship advice but finds it difficult to address issues within her own marriage.“

No other cast has been announced yet, but production is scheduled to begin next week in Atlanta, GA.
