Justine Skye has a message for Givēon: she isn’t here for passive-aggressive games or subtle shade!

Skye’s diehard fans will know that the 26-year-old singer has been busy promoting her upcoming single: “What A Lie.” She’s been talking about the track, dropping this Friday, on social media for the past week — letting everyone and their mother know that she has something new coming their way.

Resultingly, when Givēon — Skye’s ex-boyfriend — recently announced that he had something new dropping later this month, people began raising their eyebrows.

Additionally, the fact that Givēon’s upcoming single is titled “Lie Again” only further fueled the public’s opinion that his new song was a response to Skye’s similarly titled track.

People immediately began buzzing about Givēon’s apparent shade. After a few hours of online speculation from fans, Skye eventually decided to speak on it.

Quote tweeting a fan-made post about the matter, Skye called Givēon out and dissed his musical abilities.

“I already know what this weak-ass song sounds like anyway,” she tweeted. “It’s not what y’all think it’ll be.”

Givēon hasn’t addressed the post on social media. Similarly, Skye hasn’t further spoken on the matter.

Rumors that Justine Skye and Givēon were romantically linked initially began swirling in late 2020. Over the next few months, various public outings further fueled this speculation.

However, by October 2021, Skye was alluding to a breakup through a series of cryptic tweets. Notably, the breakup news sent Twitter into somewhat of a meme-frenzy.

It was eventually revealed that the pair broke up because Skye allegedly caught Givēon cheating on her.

Judging by this recent development in the matter, it doesn’t look like they’re on the friendliest of terms.

Both Skye and Givēon’s tracks are currently available for pre-save. “What A Lie” premieres this Friday, while “No Lies” drops on Apr. 29.
