Streaming sensation Kai Cenat is dominating headlines as, despite his second ban this year from the Twitch platform where he gained popularity, it has grabbed the attention of rappers and singers like Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Ice Spice, SZA and more recently, Nicki Minaj.

Minaj shared she wants to “dress up nice and cute” and join the 21-year-old for a live stream because she “[not gonna lie]… I love him [so much]” following his enthusiastic response to her feature on the “Princess Diana” remix with Ice Spice.

The timing is unfortunate, as Twitch has banned the streamer indefinitely for undisclosed reasons. On the other hand, Kick is shooting their shot — letting everyone know on social media that this record-breaking streamer has a home on their platform should he want it. In two cryptic stories, Cenat shared that Twitch banned him, but they “can’t stop” him.

But who is Kai Cenat? Here are five facts about the viral content creator:

He is the biggest streamer on Twitch, breaking records left and right.

With over 1 million followers and despite being relatively new to the platform, Cenat has reached top-tier Twitch talent status. According to the BBC, he generated 46 million hours watched on Twitch in just a month, breaking the record in February for the most hours watched by a single creator and amassing 300,000 subscribers for the most monthly subscriptions. On March 11, Cenat won “Streamer of the Year” at the 12th Streamer Awards.

He gained popularity on YouTube.

According to SVG, the creator’s first popular video dates back to his Facebook days, when he made skits about parent-teacher meetings in high school. Cenat focused on his content-creating career full-time after dropping out of college. He uploaded his first YouTube video on Jan. 13, 2018, and continued making vlogs and prank videos. The prankster migrated from YouTube to the purple platform in February 2021, posting gaming and reaction content.

He is also part of the digital content group, Any Means Possible.

YouTuber Fanum discovered Cenat and invited him to join the YouTube group Any Means Possible in August 2020. Founded in 2019, AMP is focused on gaming online and in real life (IRL). The budding gamer lives in the content house, where he frequently collaborates with content creators like Agent 00, ImDavisss and Duke Dennis.

He was born and bred in New York, where he got his start.

According to BeforeTheyWereFamous, the Bronx native was born in December 2001 to a Haitian father and a Trinidadian mother. He also shares three siblings: twin sister Kaia, younger brother Kaleel and older brother Devonte.

He is an aspiring rapper and actor.

His musical aspirations began bearing fruit in January 2020 when he filmed a music video for the song “Shoot” by Adot. In November 2022, Cenat was a guest in Lil Uzi Vert’s music video for “Just Wanna Rock.” He acted in the trailer for Polo G’s single “Distraction” in June 2022. Last year, the budding rapper released his debut single, “Bustdown Rollie Avalanche,” with NLE Choppa.

With the streaming world in the palm of his hands, we can only wait to see what Cenat will do next.
