DAMN., we’ve been waiting on this one.
This summer has been too good us as far as music videos go. JAY-Z’s been steadily dropping visual gems, and Kendrick’s been doing the same. All we’re really missing is a new Beyoncé visual album … although, maybe we’re being greedy.
Today, Kung Fu Kenny’s dropped another diamond, the video for "LOYALTY," directed by Dave Meyers and the Little Homies, who also handled the directing duties for the "HUMBLE" video.
And it’s got everything.
It starts out with hellhounds and Kenny ignoring the temptations of the flesh before being cast as a postmodern Damocles.
And things only get better from there.
Because Rihanna arrives on the scene.
Fresh off stealing the show in Valerian, RiRi does the same here, playing rabble-rouser with complete faith in Kenny.
Together they walk through the underworld like Orpheus, getting their hands dirty and killing their personal demons, all while trying not to get pulled down below like all those they condemn to an eternity in hell.
And through their faith in each other and, of course, their loyalty towards each other, they find themselves able to rise above common dirt and grime and death to take their place in heavenly heights.
