Well, the kids should love it.
Following in the footsteps of former NBA players like Michael Jordan and Shaquille O'Neal, forward with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant, is starring in this ability-swapping upcoming feature film titled Thunderstuck.
At first I thought it was a joke, but it's a very real film, which also stars Brandon T. Jackson.
Here's its official synopsis:
When Brian, a hopelessly uncoordinated young fan magically switches talents with his basketball hero (NBA Superstar Kevin Durant, playing himself), he becomes the star of his high school team…while Kevin Durant suddenly can't make a shot to save his life. But with the playoffs approaching, Brian learns that being a true winner involves working hard at your own game, and he tries to make things right in time to prevent a catastrophic end to his hero's season..
The film also now has an official trailer, poster and release date; it'll be out in theaters (not straight to video as I originally imagined) on August 24.
Taylor Gray and Jim Belushi round out the cast. You'll also see a few sports celebrity cameos like Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley.
John Whitesell directed the film, from a script penned by Eric Champnell.
