Kevin Hart continues to have the best year ever ever!
As if he already doesn’t have plenty on his plate to chew on, the comedian/actor has signed to star in a currently-untitled Screen Gems/Miramax collaboration from first-timer Jeremy Garelick, that will see The Book Of Mormon‘s Josh Gad, co-starring with Hart.
According to the press release, in the comedy, Hart will play a charismatic guy who provides best man services for socially-challenged guys, who can’t get anyone to stand by them on their wedding days.
Gad will play a groom-to-be, who finds himself in need of Hart’s services. Of course, all doesn’t work out exactly as planned, as hijinx and hilarity ensue.
In reading the press release, I immediately thought of the Will Smith/Kevin James pairing in 2004’s Hitch.
It also reminded me of the 2009 comedy, I Love You, Man, with Paul Rudd and Jason Segel.
Miramax’s Adam Fields and Will Packer are producing the film. Screen Gems’ President, Clint Culpepper, will oversee the project on behalf of Screen Gems.
Up next for Hart, catch him in his concert film Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, which is out in July. It’s just one of 4 or 5 upcoming projects on his slate, set for release in the next 12 months.
