Wendell B. Harris Jr is a name that I hope most of you are already familiar with, given how much it’s been mentioned on this blog over the last 5 years. The brainchild behind one of the most impressive feature film debuts of the last 25 years (aka "Chameleon Street," a film that, sadly, many still have yet to see), who struggled to get other film projects financed after that, despite the acclaim his feature debut attracted, is back, after over 2 decades, with another feature film.
I’ll save the lengthy formal intro (google-search "Shadow and Act" and "Wendell B. Harris Jr." together for all our previous posts on him to catch up), and just get right to the heart of the post, in the interest of time.
He’s just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help finance a heady documentary feature he’s been working on for over 20 years, titled "Yeshua vs. Frankenstein in 3D," which he describes as a riveting 120 minute documentary in 3D that explores German sociologist, philosopher and musicologist Theodor W. Adorno’s efforts to "lobotomize America through media."
According to Harris, "The project was initiated in 1990 by Jerry Weintraub & Warner Bros., who hired me to write/direct a big summer blockbuster about the Roswell Incident of 1947."

I’ve also embedded a video below of Wendell, talking, although very briefly, about the campaign. However, the Kickstarter page has much of the story – background info, who’s been involved in the project (director Steven Soderbergh is one name mentioned), and more.
His goal is to raise $60,000 in the next 39 days. Let’s help Wendell get this project funded; it’s been far too long since the world has been treated to a Wendell B. Harris project, and that’s unfortunate!
