Kid Cudi continues to push past gender norms in fashion, wearing a wedding dress designed by Eli Russell Linnetz at the CFDA Awards in New York City on Wednesday.

According to Insider, Lennitz was nominated for CFDA American Emerging Designer of the Year. The designer is also known for the head-turning quilt worn by rapper A$AP Rocky during this year’s Met Gala.

As Blavity previously reported, Kid Cudi previously took the stage on Saturday Night Live to honor the late Kurt Cobain in a floral dress designed by Louis Vuitton's artistic director Virgil Abloh. Unfazed by the criticism he received, the 37-year old rapper continued to push boundaries through unique attire and polished nails.

After his appearance on Saturday Night Live, Kid Cudi sat down on HBO’s The Shop: Uninterrupted and defended his nonconforming fashion choices, saying, “I’ve never been someone who’s like thinking about the backlash. I don’t give a f**k about what anyone thinks.”

“If this is what I’m supposed to do, then so be it,” he continued. “I want to be a disruptor, I want to f**k s**t up. And it’s cool, because I’m also giving confidence to the kids and telling them to be themselves and do what they want to do.”

The “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper continued to receive backlash after his fingernails were painted in a picture posted to Instagram. Complex reports the rapper took to Twitter to announce he turned off his Instagram comments as a result.

“Seems people really have a problem w[with] me painting my nails,” he said.

“I really need u to understand, if u don’t like me doin this or anything I do, please dont buy my albums, dont come to my shows,” he continued. “F**k way off.”
