Trina wants to do a Verzuz battle with rap legend Lil Kim

In a radio interview with DJ Scream, the Miami rapper said she always looked up to Lil Kim and was inspired by her music, noting that when she first became a rapper she knew she could find success because New York native had.

But now, the Florida rap icon is hoping to perform side-by-side with her, suggesting the two do a Verzuz in the future.

"Kim is that b***h. Let's be clear. When I came into the industry, this is who I looked up to. These were the lyrics I recited. This is what made me know that it's OK to talk that lethal s**t," Trina said.

"Kim is legendary and she got mad records. And it won't even feel like a competition. It's a family thing. I'm probably going to be so much more engaged in her records than anything because it will go back to when I first heard her. So I'll be in my vibe, like fanning out. Nobody reached out though, nobody said anything," she added.

The last Verzuz took place on Saturday featuring Wu-Tang legends Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, with the two trading hits for nearly three hours.

The event turned into a full Wu-Tang reunion with appearances from RZA, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, Masta Killa and Ol Dirty Bastard’s son Young Dirty Bastard.

The next show on April 4 will see The Isley Brothers match up with Earth, Wind and Fire. On April 20, a special match between Method Man and Redman is scheduled.

A spokesperson for Verzuz also said that Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, the founders of the brand, will be doing a battle to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the series starting.
