Kim Kardashian got candid about raising four children with ex-husband Kanye West in light of his controversial behavior.
In a new interview on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, the Skims founder shared what it’s like co-parenting with Ye. According to Kardashian, West’s erratic behavior in recent months has made co-parenting “really f**king hard.”
Despite the negative press Ye has received, Kardashian said she tries to shield the children from their father’s many controversies.
“If they don’t know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them?” she said. “That’s real heavy grown-up s**t that they’re not ready to deal with, and when they are, we’ll have those conversations.”
“I’ll be so prepared,” she added. “But until then, I’ll do anything to keep their life as normal as possible.”
Kardashian wants North, Chicago, Saint and Psalm to continue viewing their father positively.
“I had the best dad, and I had the best memories and the greatest experience, and that’s all I want for my kids as long as they can have that, that’s what I would want for them,” Kardashian said.
Though he’s said plenty of negative things about her and the rest of the Kardashian family, the reality star shared she would never publicly bash the hip-hop mogul.
“One day, my kids will thank me for sitting here and not bashing their dad when I could — all the crazy s**t — they’ll thank me, and I’ll privately answer anything that they want to know,” she explained.
