On the heels of his arrest in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, earlier this month, Kodak Black is alleging that he was a victim of racial profiling.
Kodak Black was taken into custody on July 15, as Blavity previously reported. He was initially pulled over on suspicion of his window tint being too dark, and authorities also noted that he had expired tags.
Florida Highway Patrol officers ultimately searched the vehicle after allegedly catching a whiff of marijuana, and they discovered 31 Oxycodone pills and nearly $75,000 in cash.
As a result, the “Tunnel Vision” rapper was taken into custody and charged with possessing a controlled substance without a prescription and trafficking oxycodone. He ultimately posted bond, and his attorney — Bradford Cohen — spoke on the situation through Twitter.
“Never Judge a case based on an arrest. There are always additional facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case. We will get him a bond today and move forward with resolving the matter quickly,” he wrote.
However, despite this explanation and the fact that Kodak bailed himself out, the situation ultimately resulted in the rapper being placed on house arrest for violating his supervised release — which required him to to “avoid drug use and obey all laws,” according to VladTV.
Kodak Black agreed to pay a $225,000 surety bond, and U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman ordered him to submit to drug testing, wear an ankle monitor and stay home unless he has to leave for court, medical care, or employment. He’s also prevented from having “studio events” unless approved by a judge beforehand.
Now, Kodak Black is speaking out about the situation on Twitter and alleging that he didn’t do anything wrong.
“This S**t bogus Af I feel like This a character assassination issue Kuz theirs no way I should be getting harassed bout my tag being expired, that’s no reason to even search my car in the first place and going to jail about having my medication in the car is insane,” he began.
He then proceeded to proclaim, “Ima Sue these people for every dollar I gotta spend bout this s**t.”

“I’m being racially profiled and as a Black man in America I deserve my freedom especially with everything I do for my community I should be getting love, respect and support from the authorities! To move freely, not getting arrested for expired tag and dark windows,” the rapper added.

Kodak then tweeted that, judging by who he is and the fact that his team is responsible for ensuring his vehicle is up-to-code, he should’ve been let off the hook.
“This a self-inflicted wound that coulda been prevented! My people posta made sure my tags stay up and my tints Just right but @ da same time I should have a pass to drive with tints due to my status AT LEAST!!! I show all this love round here just to get slapped in the face,” he wrote.
