NBA Champion Kyle Kuzma recently partnered with Teyana Taylor for his first tunnel look ahead of the Washington Wizards’ season opener against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.
Kuzma and Taylor had formed a close relationship over the past few months to assist the 28-year-old with his fashion style. The pair held several creative sessions through FaceTime and in-person meetings to determine which look best suits the athlete.
They also collaborated with their mutual friend Mike Amiri on a cutting-edge outfit from his Fall 2023 Menswear Collection to highlight Kuzma’s tunnel moment.
Kuzma talked about working with the Harlem native and how he has always admired her style and influence on the culture.
“It was an absolute honor to collaborate with Teyana on this tunnel look as I’ve always respected her style and influence on pop culture,” Kuzma said in a press release statement. “We both share a love of taking risks and thinking outside of the box in fashion, so combining our creative energies and artistic visions to build out this moment with the Amiri team was an extraordinary experience.”
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old spoke highly of the collaboration and praised Kuzma for using fashion as a personal expression.
“Kyle represents a new era of athletes who understand how to harness the power of fashion for personal expression. This collaboration is a celebration of individuality, and shows how fashion and creativity can transcend industries to create impactful cultural moments,” Taylor said.
In recent months, Taylor served as creative director for several music artists to help with their looks for upcoming tours and festival performances. In July, Blavity reported that Taylor was the creative director and co-producer for Lil Baby’s upcoming “It’s Only Us” tour.
According to Sports Illustrated, Kuzma finished as the team’s leading scorer with 25 points despite a 120-143 loss to the Pacers.
