I say, probably not… 

Some of you may remember Beyoncé's 2008 admission to the LA Times' Hero Complex, in which she revealed that, not only would she love to play Wonder Woman on screen, but she had, in fact, met with DC Comics reps and Warner Bros to discuss starring in one of their then upcoming projects.

 "I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?" Beyoncé says that she has met with representatives of DC Comics and Warner Bros. to express her interest in a major role in one of the many comic-book adaptations now in the pipeline following the massive success of "The Dark Knight," "Iron Man" and the "Spider-Man" and "X-Men" franchises. 

Again, that was in 2008. Obviously, whatever came of her meetings with DC Comics and Warner Bros. hasn't, thus far, resulted in anything that's happened publicly. Although, I certainly wasn't there, so I have no idea what exactly was discussed or planned.

Skip ahead to last night's Super Bowl halftime performance, which wowed many, and disappointed others, if my Twitter and Facebook newsfeeds were any indication. But that's Beyoncé; she's a polarizing public figure. You either love her, or you love to hate her.

While some were busy wondering whether the Roc-A-Fella triangular symbol she made with her hands during her performance, as well as the entire performance itself, was all some sort of Illuminati thing (those conspiracy theories just won't go away, will they?), the LA Times was instead wondering whether her performance, along with all the moves and gestures she made, were all a tryout for the Wonder Woman film she expressed interest in over 4 years ago. 

Needless to say, I'm not sold on either – the Illuminati thing, nor that it was an audition for Wonder Woman. 

But maybe they have some inside info that I don't, and, some time this week, it'll be announced that  Beyoncé is indeed attached to a Wonder Woman film.

It did get me thinking further though… if not Wonder Woman, since she clearly wants to play a super hero on screen, and did approach DC Comics and the WB about the possibility, what super hero character do you think she'd be perfect for… if any?
