Former First Lady Michelle Obama stole the spotlight during the presidential inauguration on Wednesday, showing off her extraordinary wardrobe and dazzling hairstyle at the grand occasion. Obama, who has always been noted for her style, walked hand-in-hand with her husband as she mesmerized her admirers.
Social media users especially focused on Obama's hair, describing her style as big drip.

The laid hair led to many people asking how Obama pulled it off.
The think piece I need: how is Michelle’s hair THAT laid this early in the morning while being outside? Is it product? Is it favor?

The stunning style also sparked a trend for the word "laid" on Twitter.

Just like the dozens of Americans who felt a little more hop in their step on the historic day, the 57-year-old made a statement with some bounce in her hair.
MICHELLE GOT MORE BOUNCE TO THE OUNCE WITH THIS HAIR.

Philip Lewis, an editor at HuffPost, described the elegant wardrobe as a plum Sergio Hudson suit.

Some social media users noted the contrast from Obama's style at the 2017 inauguration.
Every Black woman understands the difference between Michelle's 2017 messy ponytail and the 2021 laid weave. It's existential.

At the 2017 inauguration, the Chicago native stole the show with her facial expressions as former President Donald Trump took office.
Explaining the incident in her memoir, Becoming, Obama said the “vibrant diversity” of her husband’s two previous inaugurations “was gone” on that day when the Trump administration came in, HuffPost reported.
“Someone from Barack’s administration might have said that the optics were bad ― that what the public saw didn’t reflect the president’s reality or ideals,” she said. “But in this case, maybe it did. Realizing it, I made my own optic adjustment: I stopped even trying to smile.”
But the vibe appeared to be completely different on Wednesday as President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office while Obama dazzled thousands with her grace.
