Lakeith was easily one of our favorite breakout stars within 2016. For some, it was his role as Snoop Dogg in Straight Outta Compton, while for others, Darius on Atlanta is their favorite. Either way, he’s well on his way to being the actor to get in your project. Ask Jessica Williams who is his co-star in the upcoming Netflix movie , The Incredible Jessica James, dropping later this year.

Recently, Stanfield took to social media to express his thoughts as so many of us do. This particular rant was a previous conversation between him and a [black] male driver, bashing black women openly. The driver started his rant by saying, “black women..they’re the hardest to deal with. They’re the most f**ked up version of a woman you can have.”

Stanfield immediately shut it all down by responding with, “Whoa whoa whoa, you’re talking to the wrong person. As far as I’m concerned, that’s the most beautiful aspect of a black woman. They’ve been through the most shit you could go through in this country. That’s something that should empower you to be a better version of what you are.”

He went on to say, “The woman that’s been through the most…I want her on my side.”

Can’t even front, we’re swooning right now. Thank you LaKeith for putting that driver in his place and speaking up for black women. We need more of you in this world. Watch the rest of the clip to hear Stanfield's protective stance for women.

Hey boo!
