Could this be the song of the summer? Latto has brought Cardi B along for the remix to her single “Put It On Da Floor,” making for a fun and high-energy collaboration.

Latto originally released the track on April 20, which garnered a little under 5 million listens on Spotify. The artist raps about self-empowerment, staying unbothered and living her best life. “Put It On Da Floor” came as a follow-up to Latto’s “Lottery,” released last February.

Now a remix with Cardi B, this could bring the track to new heights. The Bronx rapper seamlessly lent her lines to the beat and appeared in the official music video with Latto. The duo is seen partying, rapping in the jewelry store and shouting out pop icon Britney Spears with a graphic T-shirt.

“I’m sexy dancin’ in the house, I feel like Britney Spears,” she raps.

The music video features several celebrity cameos, including Cardi B’s husband, Offset and LSU basketball star Angel Reese.

I been ballin’ so damn hard could’ve went to LSU,” Cardi B raps.

“I told y’all I wanted to be a video vixen,” Reese tweeted.

To announce their collaboration, Latto posted a video on social media where she rips a plastic bag off Cardi B’s head – revealing the rapper’s face. It is a reference to the song’s opening line: “Rip me out the plastic, I been actin’ brand new.”

In recent months, Cardi B has been featured on remixes for several artists – including Glorilla’s “Tomorrow 2” or Rosalía’s “Despechá.”

For Latto, this year has been a success so far. She was nominated for best new artist at the 2023 Grammy Awards, has launched her 777 Radio podcast with Apple Music and put on her Coachella performance with Teyana Taylor acting as creative director.
