In a recent teaser she posted on TikTok, Latto previewed an upcoming song, and the internet shared its unsolicited opinions on her body.

The response led the Atlanta native to tell her story about why she decided to get a BBL. She did it when she was 21 and cites the the internet as the reason behind the procedure.

Latto shared on her Instagram Story about how she thought getting the surgery would boost her self-esteem. According to the rapper, she felt insecure after reading comments online at the time. Additionally, the 25-year-old stated that looking back at photos, she now realizes how beautiful her natural body was.

“My body was so tea… I signed my deal when I was 21… actually, I wasn’t even 21 yet… and I was just having money and living a whole new life, eating out,” she expressed on her Instagram Story, as Vibe reported

“Y’all know I’m a foodie, so now I had the funds to feed this foodie in me so I gained a little weight,” she added. “And everybody on the internet was calling me ‘bad-bodied’ and stuff like that, so I feel like that played a role. I started being a little insecure about my body.”

Internet trolls often ridicule Latto for going under the knife, but she is bored with the commentary.

“Every time I post a gym picture, people be like, ‘Oh, she got a BBL,'” she said. “I’ve been so loud and clear about a BBL that I had four years ago when I was 21, [one] that y’all convinced me I needed, by the way… Bi**hes be on their third, fourth round by now. I got one BBL four years ago. This is all me now, know that. I get my a** up and go to the gym.”

In her final message, the “Sunday Service” rapper encouraged her fans to be comfortable in their own skin.

“Moral of the story, I just think everybody should just stop worrying about everybody. Natural girls are winning. Surgery girls… BBL girls are winning,” she concluded. “Do what works for you and mind your own business. Make your own decisions based on what you want to do, not what other people are telling you to do.”
