Kendrick Lamar is sending music fans into a frenzy after releasing his latest song, “The Heart Part 5,” on Sunday. Fans flocked to social media to give the rapper his flowers after listening to the latest track, which pays tribute to legends including Kobe Bryant and Nipsey Hussle.
In the video for the rapper’s newest track, Lamar’s face morphs into celebrities such as OJ Simpson, Will Smith, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, Kanye West and Nipsey Hussle. Lamar’s lyrics align with the story of each person he resembles, including a verse about bipolar disorder as he morphs into West.
Fans are especially touched by Lamar’s reference to Bryant and Nipsey, the two Los Angeles legends whose lives were both tragically cut short.

The actor posted on her Instagram story, sharing a clip of the video with the words “Powerful Art.”

Rapping from Nipsey’s perspective, Lamar said he forgives the person who shot him down in 2019.
“I wake up that morning with more heart to give you,” Lamar raps. “As I bleed through the speakers, feel my presence/ To my brother, to my kids, I’m in Heaven/ To my mother, to my sis, I’m in Heaven/ To my father, to my wife, I am serious, this is Heaven/ To my friends, make sure you countin’ them blessings/ To my fans, make sure you make them investments.”
