Fans of Lauryn Hill are over the moon after the legendary artist returned to rap with a performance on Nas' latest album King's Disease II. As she has done many times in the past, the Miseducation artist mesmerized her fans when she appeared on "Nobody," one of 15 tracks featured on Nas' album.
In the track "Nobody," Nas raps about his desire to go to a place where he can get away to find peace. He expresses his desire to escape fame and social media, as well as injustice in the country.
"If Chappelle moved to Ghana to find his peace then I'm rollin," the artist raps in reference to Dave Chappelle saying he's considering following in Stevie Wonder's footsteps and moving to the African nation. "Where the service always roamin'/I'm packin' my bags and goin'/It's a challenge in that, it's a balancing act/Visit beautiful places that's more out here than the trap."
Hill raps about remaining as herself in a world that wants to strip her from her identity.
"They tried to box me out while takin' what they want from me…Now let me give it to you balanced and with clarity/I don't need to turn myself into a parody/ I don't- I don't do the shit you do for popularity/They clearly didn't understand when I said 'I Get Out' apparently," the legendary artist raps.
The Twitterverse was elated by the collaboration.
While many fans expected Nas to come out with another memorable project, they were shocked by Hill's return.
