LeBron James had the people going crazy on Saturday after playing in the Drew League, the popular pro-am basketball league in Los Angeles. The anticipation built up quickly on social media when NBA Insider Chris Haynes first broke the news on Friday, saying that James is expected to play on Saturday.

Basketball fans then flocked to King Drew Magnet High School in Los Angeles, forming long lines outside the gym and waiting for their chance to watch the basketball superstar. According to NBA.com, about 2,500 fans attended James’ game, well above the gym’s 1,300 capacity.

When James showed up, he took the court with hoopers who never thought they would ever play with or against the billionaire athlete. James refused to take it easy no matter who was guarding him. The 37-year-old, who teamed up with NBA star DeMar DeRozan, scored 42 points to lead the MMV Cheaters in a 104-102 win against Black Pearl Elite.

James’ opponents dared to try and slow down the Los Angeles Lakers star. Unfortunately for some of them, their unsuccessful effort is being ridiculed on the internet.

Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving was also expected to play in the Drew League game on Saturday, but he didn’t show up. Instead, Irving was working with young hoopers at a basketball camp in in Thousand Oaks, California, ESPN reports.
