Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso was arrested in Texas for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Tuesday.

Texas A&M Police Department Lt. Bobby Richardson stated that Caruso tried to board a flight Tuesday afternoon at Easterwood Airport, located on Texas A&M University’s property when TSA agents searched his belongings. They found a grinder containing marijuana, ESPN reported.

Caruso was arrested and booked for less than two ounces of marijuana and was released shortly after posting bail.

A Twitter user posted a 20-second video with the caption “When LeBron found out Caruso got arrested.”

The video shows a man crouching down outside of a store shouting at a cat, “I’m going to get you out of here. I promise you I’m going to get you out of there. You don’t belong in there…I’m going to do everything it takes to make sure you get out of there.”

LeBron James, Caruso's teammate, retweeted the video, joking about posting his bond. James posted a gif on Twitter that said “straight cash homey” with a video of a man wearing a hoodie and entering a vehicle.

While some criticized James for condoning the use of marijuana and being a bad influence on his teammates, many people responded, calling him the GOAT for assisting his friend, assuming he posted Caruso's bail.

One of James’ fans, however, posted a message to critics.

“Y’all clowning this man for saying he got his teammate back. over a drug that is legal in most states. not to mention, these grown men lebron not they pops lol they gone do what they want,” they wrote.

Another Twitter user posted a photo of James in a suit with the caption “LeLawyer.”

One Twitter user posted a short video with the caption “Lebron when Carusos bail money goes through.” The video shows James in a dark room, wearing sunglasses, opening his laptop while nodding and listening to an instrumental of “Forever” by rapper Drake.

Other Twitter users had fun imagining James coming to Caruso's rescue.

Other users joked about Caruso showing up to play games next season.

At this time Caruso is currently an unrestricted free agent and faces two misdemeanor charges for Tuesday’s arrest.
