nullYou can barely tell by watching the trailer for the Luc Besson-co-penned, Guy Pearce-led sci-fi prison thriller Lockout, but the film also features performances from Lennie James and Jacky Ido.

Here's Lockout's synopsis, in a nutshell:

A man (Pearce) wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.

If I'm not mistaken, James and Besson last worked together on another film that Besson co-wrote– 2011's Zoe Saldana-starring Colombiana.

S&A just announced this week that Ido will soon be shooting In The Morning, a film by Nefertite Nguvu.

From the bits of him I was able to see in the trailer, it seems that James will be playing some sort of law enforcement figure named Harry Shaw.  I want to believe that Ido, who plays a character named Hock, won't just be playing a prisoner . . . but hey, he's working!

Lockout was originally tagged with an April 20 release date.  That has now been changed to April 13.

The trailer, while not earth-shattering, is decent enough.  If you're a fan of sci-fi, like myself, then it just might pique your interest.

Check it out for yourself and decide if you're going to give your local cinema $11 to see it:
