Update (Feb. 8, 2022): NBC isn’t stopping comedian Leslie Jones’ from live-tweeting the Olympics after all. After the Saturday Night Live star mentioned she may stop adding her own commentary on the games because her videos were getting blocked, the broadcast company responded to Jones’ message saying that the issue wasn’t something done deliberately.

"This was the result of a third-party error, and the situation has been resolved," an NBC spokesperson said, per CNN Business. "She is free to do her social media posts as she has done in the past. She is a super fan of the Olympics, and we are super fans of her."

Prior to NBC's message, on Monday an upset Jones posted on Twitter that she was “starting to feel like this should be my last Olympics I live tweet.”

"I'm tired of fighting the folks who don't want me to do it,” she wrote, adding that the athletes and other fans have loved her content in the past.

The Ghostbusters actress, who’s been largely known for her social media clowning, has increased her followers since she began creating her own commentary for the Olympic games. Jones started covering the games in 2016, offering jokes for the summer games in Rio.

According to CNN, NBC didn’t request the social sites to take down the content though it's not uncommon for platforms such as Twitter or Instagram to remove unlicensed content on their sites.

Original (Feb. 7, 2022): Leslie Jones is expressing her frustration with NBC and threatening to stop doing her popular video narration of the Winter Olympics in Beijing.

"This should be my last Olympics I live tweet," the comedian wrote on social media. "I'm tired of fighting the folks who don't want me to do it. They block my videos and they get folks who think they can do it like me. And I'm tired of fighting them."

According to People, Jones has been recapping and live-tweeting the Summer and Winter Olympic Games in recent years. Going to her immensely popular social media pages, including TikTok, the TV star has been posting videos to comment on various Olympic events, including skiing and figure skating.

Shortly before expressing her frustration, the comedian posted a video commenting on the figure skating event live from her home.

"I do this because I really enjoy watching the Olympics," Jones said while watching Team USA's Karen Chen during the skating competition. "I really love you guys' reactions … this is like everybody coming together, no matter what's going on. … When I'm doing this, my spirit is totally in it. … I do this with real passion."

Jones is receiving support from many of her followers.

According to HuffPost, Jones has been providing uncensored commentary on Olympic events since the 2016 Olympics in Rio. But the comedian may be violating NBC's copyright policy as she shares live videos on social media, NBC New York reports

Jamaican Olympic gold medalist Elaine Thompson-Herah faced similar issues last summer when she posted videos of her own races on Instagram. The Olympian was forced to remove the videos because she did not own the rights to the footage.
