After weeks of celebrity hosts, current executive producer Mike Richards and actor Mayim Bialik have officially been named permanent co-hosts of Jeopardy, according to reports from Variety.

When news broke about who would be the next hosts of Jeopardy, LeVar Burton fans didn't receive the news too well.

Always the gentleman, Burton was gracious in his response as he prepared himself for the outcome.

“I have said many times over these past weeks that no matter the outcome, I’ve won,” Burton tweeted. “The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and fans alike has been incredible! If love is the ultimate blessing and I believe that it is, I am truly blessed beyond measure.”

As expected, you can count on Twitter to provide the best reactions to Burton not being chosen as Jeopardy's new host.

One person was in disbelief about who was chosen as the new host of Jeopardy.

Another person just wanted to give Burton his flowers.

After all of his iconic roles, one person could not understand why he wasn't selected.

Another person felt like a clown after believing that Burton had a shot to be the next host.

Even Ava DuVernay was willing to come up with a game show that Burton could host.

Although you won't be able to watch Burton host the legendary game show, you can join the LeVar Burton Book Club by Fable, a social reading app that encourages users to build safe communities and foster mental wellness through reading, as Blavity previously reported.

“My vision is to read great books with my community and share my love for stories with everyone, he told Blavity. "I am hoping to drive meaningful and thoughtful conversations about racial justice, cultural shifts, equality and to be honest… stories that simply allow us to escape through a good yarn.”

The acclaimed actor received a groundswell of support to be the late Alex Trebek's replacement and a petition was created in his favor, as Blavity previously reported.
