3 weeks ago, Lifetime announced that, in celebration of Black History Month in February, the network will premiere two all-new original movies: first, The Gabby Douglas Story, starring Regina King, S. Epatha Merkerson, Imani Hakim, Sydney Mikayla and Gabby Douglas herself; and second, the film adaptation of the recent all-black Broadway revival of The Trip to Bountiful, starring Cicely Tyson, Vanessa Williams, Blair Underwood and Keke Palmer.

The network has announced that it will push the premiere date for The Trip to Bountiful from the previous SaturdayFebruary 22nd, at 8pm ET/PT, time to March 8, out of Black History Month.

No specific reasons for the move were given.

The Trip to Bountiful is a TV adaptation of American playwright and screenwriter Horton Foote’s Tony nominated play. Set during the final years of the Jim Crow South, the film follows one woman’s quest to reconnect with her past in order to ensure her family’s future.

No trailer for the film yet, but I’m sure one is coming soon, with March just around the corner.
