American Media, Inc., the company alleged of targeting Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, also launched attacks against actor Terry Crews.
The New York Daily News reports the Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-star was accused by the company of sleeping with prostitutes in an effort to silence his #MeToo activism. American Media, Inc. is the parent company of the National Enquirer tabloid.
On February 7, Bezos detailed in a Medium post that the celebrity gossip news magazine was attempting to blackmail him with private photos regarding his divorce to his wife, MacKenzie Bezos.
“This same company, AMI, tried to silence me in my lawsuit against @wme and Adam Venit by fabricating stories of me with prostitutes — and even went so far as creating fake receipts,” Crews tweeted Friday.
“I called their bluff by releasing their threats online," he added. "They blinked.”

Crews was sexually assaulted by former WME agent Adam Venit at 2016 party.
In 2017, the former NFL player and artist came forward as one of the few male victims in the #MeToo movement.
A lawsuit against Venit was settled last year and Crews remains a voice against sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry.
