On Nov. 1, Migos rapper Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston after things went horribly left during a dice game at 810 Billiards & Bowling. The rapper and his uncle/fellow Migos group member Quavo were at the bowling alley for a private event being held by J. Prince Jr. and friends. What started as an argument over a dice game suddenly erupted into gunfire, leaving two injured and Takeoff fatally wounded.
Takeoff’s passing shook the hip-hop community. Following the incident, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner asked the public to help find the suspect behind the 28-year-old’s unfortunate death.

Weeks have gone by, and there still have been no arrests made in the case. As police continue to investigate, there is new information that has emerged.
According to HotNewHipHop, Cameron Joshua, aka Lil Cam 5th, was arrested and charged with felony unlawful carry of a weapon on Nov. 22 in Houston. Joshua, who is affiliated with J. Prince Jr.’s Mob Ties Records, was also in attendance at the private party on the night of Takeoff’s murder.
It’s worth noting that Joshua was not arrested for murdering Takeoff. The 16-year-old, who is currently being held in Harris County Jail, was previously out on bail for a felony, but because he was in possession of a firearm the night Takeoff was murdered, he was arrested for violating his release, Sportskeeda reports.

On Nov. 21, Houston Police Chief Finner shared an update with KPRC 2 on Takeoff’s murder investigation, stating that police have identified a person of interest and he’s confident Takeoff’s killer will be captured.
“I feel good where we’re progressing,” he said. “You remember on that day, I met with his mother. I talked with that lady personally, made a promise and there’s a lot being said. We want all investigations on murders when people are being killed to move. But the main thing is we get it right. I do not want to send family members on a roller-coaster ride and then we have to come back and say, ‘Woah that wasn’t the person.’ I want everyone to be patient and just understand there will be some justice here in Houston, Texas.”
