DJ Young Slade, whose father is rapper Lil Jon, was reported missing on Tuesday after reportedly running out of his home. The 27-year-old is said to potentially be disoriented or in need of assistance.

It’s unclear what happened or why Smith is missing, but his family is asking for privacy while they hope for his safe return home.

“The family is asking for privacy at this time,” Lil Jon’s publicist told 11Alive on Wednesday. “We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe. Thank you.”

What happened to DJ Young Slade?

DJ Young Slade, whose real name is Nathan Murray Smith, reportedly ran out of his home on Tuesday morning. He was last seen near Baldwin Drive and Mayfield Road in Milton around 6 a.m. Smith “ran out of his house and has been missing since,” police said in a bulletin posted to Facebook. He reportedly left on foot and did not have a cellphone with him.

The Milton Police Department issued a missing persons alert for Smith around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Law enforcement said he is not a threat to the public, but that he may be disoriented or in need of assistance, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

Smith is 5’9″ and weighs about 150 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Milton Police Department at 678-297-6300.

The 27-year-old recently started his own career in the music industry under the stage name DJ Young Slade. In March 2025, he starred in the MTV show Family Legacy, which showcases the children of influential musicians.

Smith previously said he wants to carve his own space in music: “I produce my own beats, I record and mix my own songs. In the future, that’s what I plan to do. Just rapping, singing… and just creating my own sound, creating my own genre, creating my own fan base,” he told The Quintessential Gentleman in an interview published in early 2025. “Just trying to do something different that nobody’s done before.”

That same month, Smith appeared alongside his father on an episode of Family Feud.
