The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy on the body but have not yet released the results.

“The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that [additional] studies are required to establish the cause and manner of death. Additional studies include cardiac pathology, neuropathology, toxicology and histology,” a spokesperson for the medical examiner’s office said in a statement.

He reportedly began bleeding from the mouth as he walked through the airport and was conscious on his way to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

While it is still unconfirmed whether drugs played any role in the seizures, Juice WRLD's girlfriend allegedly told police at the scene that he "took Percocet and had a drug problem," according to The Chicago Tribune.

According to the newspaper, two officers gave the rapper Narcan at the scene hoping to stop the seizures.

Juice WRLD had arrived in Chicago after taking a private plane from Los Angeles.

Police later found on the private plane 41 bags of marijuana, six bottles of prescription codeine cough syrup, two 9 mm pistols, a .40-caliber pistol, a high-capacity ammunition magazine and metal-piercing bullets, a source told Rolling Stone.

TMZ spoke to police sources who painted a fuller picture of what may have happened. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the plane's pilot called air traffic control and told them to alert police there were guns on the plane. Apparently FBI and FAA agents were waiting for Juice WRLD and his crew when they landed.

The same police sources claimed Juice WRLD was seen ingesting a handful of Percocet pills as police searched the plane. Two of the rapper's friends were arrested but both have since been released.
