Rapper Lil Wayne revealed that his mother asked him to have a baby at 14, and fans have mixed feelings about it. Lil Wayne, whose legal name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., told the story during his speech accepting the Global Impact Award presented by the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective during Grammy weekend.
During his emotional speech, Wayne recalled stories of his mother, Jacinda Carter. He told fans that his mother asked him for a grandchild to keep her from being lonely while he was on the road.
With tears in his eyes, Wayne relived the moment as the audience listened.
“I walked into my mama’s room when I was 14,” he said as reported by Hot New Hip Hop. “She asked me for a kid because my dad was killed. And her son had just blew up and went on his first tour, and we did not know that b***h was going to be six months.
He continued, “When I came home she said, ‘Son, I can’t live in this house by myself. We’re going to have to figure something out.”
Wayne ended that portion of the speech with, “I’d like to thank Antonia Johnson. I’d like to thank every single one of my kids and every single one of their mothers.”
Wayne and Johnson had their daughter, Reginae, when they were 16 years old. The two were married in 2004 and divorced in 2006.
Wayne has had three children after Reginae. He has three sons, 14-year-old Dwayne Carter III with Shade 45 XM radio host, Sarah Vivan, 13-year-old Kameron Carter with actress Lauren London, and 13-year-old Neal Carter with singer Nivea.

The “God Did” rapper continued his speech by paying homage to people who helped him reach his icon status, including his long-time friends and former label mates on Cash Money Records.
“I’d also like to thank Cash Money Records,” he said. “Coming from New Orleans, Cash Money Records was, and this is before Universal, this is before any nationwide deal, Cash Money was [like] if you was from Dallas and you just got signed to the Cowboys.”
At 12 years old, he was signed to Cash Money by Bryan “Birdman” Williams and released his first album, Tha Block Is Hot.
As the footage of Wayne accepting his award hit social media, fans were shocked at the story about his mom, fondly known as “Cita.”

Yes it may be weird, strange, etc that his mom asked for a grandchild when he was 14 but this puts on a pedestal the type of shit people are going through and have gone through at home and many don’t even live to speak on how they got through it

Mom seems a bit off & selfish. Being lonely is horrible reason to have a kid but to ask your kid to have a kid because you are lonely is out of control.
