Lil Yachty Surprises McDonald's Workers In Atlanta For A Special 'Thank You Crew' Initiative

McDonald’s Corporation shared the exclusive footage on its official social media accounts.

Yachty arrived for his visit, casually ordering a chocolate shake from the first drive-thru window at the establishment. When the rapper pulled up to the second to receive his order, the worker immediately recognized the star. 

As the video continues, we watch Yachty go inside to greet the entire crew and lend a helping hand in preparing McChicken sandwiches.

“I promise y’all I used to do this,” he shared with the workers. “I’m a little rusty but I got them things on there.”

The “Minnesota” rapper is actually a former employee of the fast-food corporation, and showed his appreciation for all of McDonald’s workers across the country when he shared his own clip of the surprise visit to his TikTok.

“Been a minute since I made a McChicken! I know how hard @mcdonalds crew works. Appreciate u!,” Yachty captioned the post,

In the video shared by McDonald’s, Yachty also showered the entire crew with words of gratitude.

“I just want to send a big appreciation for all the crew workers here, man. I once worked at McDonald’s, so I know what it’s like working in that building and getting back to delivering that stuff out,” he shared. “I just want to say a big thank you to everyone out here. I appreciate you, hard and heavy!” 

Yachty’s surprise visit comes in partnership with McDonald’s new “Thank You Crew” initiative, which allows customers to give special recognition to the managers and crew members that are making a positive difference in their local restaurants.

According to a news release shared by the company, those employees will then be awarded “one-of-a-kind thank-you experiences.”

“I learned a lot working at McDonald’s before my career took off, and the visit brought those memories right back,” Yachty shared. “I give huge credit to all the McDonald’s crew showing up and working hard every single day. They deserve big things, real celebrations, and I’m here for that.”

The employees were also equally appreciative and inspired by Yachty’s visit.

“This is the first time I’ve ever been with an organization that has ever done anything like this for us,” one crew member shared. 

“It actually motivates me more to actually move up from where I am, knowing you can start from the bottom and actually end up on top,” another crew member added.
