Lizzo shared a heartwarming moment with her mother while hosting Saturday Night Live on Saturday. The touching occurrence happened as Lizzo prepared to perform in front of the live audience. Grinning from ear to ear as she stood among the audience, Shari Johnson-Jefferson proudly introduced her daughter to the crowd.

“Once again, my daughter, Lizzo!” Johnson-Jefferson said as the 33-year-old took the stage.

During her opening monologue, Lizzo joked about making her mother uncomfortable with curse words.

“Tonight, we’re gonna break the record for the amount of times b***h is said on live TV. I hate cussing in front of my mom,” the “Truth Hurts” singer said while giving a shoutout to her mother sitting in the audience. “The first time my mom came to see me perform, I had to warn her. Mom, when I’m onstage, I’m gonna say some bad words. At the time, she didn’t like that, but now I’m rich. So she’s like, ‘B***h, cuss me out!'”

Lizzo had plenty more jokes in her bag as she opened the show.

“I got brains and booty,” she said after sharing a brief lesson about the history of twerking. “I’m like if Einstein could make that ass clap.”

The “Rumors” singer also joked about rumors she supposedly heard about herself.

“I even heard a rumor that I’m pregnant with Chris Evans’ baby,” she said. “I have no idea where that one started. It could be the TikTok I did where I said, ‘I’m pregnant with Chris Evans’ baby.”

As she often does, Lizzo reminded her fans to love themselves.

“I do love tonight’s music guest. It’s me,” she said. “Everybody should love themselves. You know, at every show I tell my audience the same thing and I’ll tell y’all too — I love you, you are beautiful and you can do anything. I’m living proof of that. I used to live in my car and now I’m up here hosting Saturday Night Live!”

Lizzo opened the show on Saturday by introducing herself.

“Ladies and gentleman, me,” she said.

The singer proudly reflected on the moment when she went to social media.

“IM THE FIRST HOST TO EVER INTRODUCE THEMSELVES  THANK U LORNE!” she wrote.

The singer later corrected herself, saying she’s only the first woman to introduce herself on the show.

According to Deadline, Lizzo has launched a new reality TV series, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, available on Prime Video.
