We stan a generous queen! Lizzo showed ultimate love when she gifted a fan her 2022 Emmy dress. Aurielle Marie, an award-winning author and a poet based in Atlanta, Georgia, sent out a heartfelt request to the Grammy winner via TikTok.
According to The Indepdendent, the fan was being honored on Out Magazine’s 2022 Out100 list. The Out100 list recognizes impactful and influential people from the LGBT+ community. The honor came along with an invite for Marie to attend a red carpet event. Finding herself in a fashion dilemma, Marie shot the ultimate shot.

In the video, Marie is sending an “SOS” and a “911” page to Lizzo for help. She lets her followers know it’s real by captioning the outcry with “10 years of grinding, perfecting my craft, and betting on me, and Y’ALL THEY JUST TOLD ME IM ONE OF THE #OUT100!!! BUT I DONT HAVE ANYTHING TO WEAR! So I’m calling reinforcements. LIZZO PLS HELPPPPPPP!”
The fan begins the video by sending a disclaimer to Lizzo, explaining that she won’t take up too much of her time: “B***h I know you’re busy, but I need a minute of your time. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Marie makes her case by running down her resume for Lizzo, including some of her viral essays that revolve around the singer and how her novel, Gumbo Ya Ya, gained her the title of Georgia Author of the Year.
Afterwards, quickly got to her point, saying, “I can’t find anything, anywhere that is big b***h and red carpet ready.”
She continued her plea, adding, “I know you know how it feels to be the biggest b***h in the room and all the scrutiny and hyper-visibility that comes with that because I’ve watched you talk about it … But the longer I go without something to wear, the less I want to be there.”
Marie finally asks for the dress.
“So I said, let me make a little TikTok because you never know what can happen … Can I please, please, please wear your dress from the 2022 Emmys? Please. Which is my favorite!”
Marie sent the message into the TikTok universe, letting the powers that be do their thing.
The dress of her dreams was a custom Giambattista Valli gown. The crimson color and big sleeves were the perfect backdrop for Lizzo’s Emmy she won for outstanding competition program for Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.

Although, she thought the video would fall on deaf ears, Marie was surprised when a special delivery arrived for her a couple days later.
Marie posted an update video of ring cam footage showing a large box getting delivered to her — only 20 minutes before her flight.

Followers were waiting for the author to rip into the box. Delivering on their wishes, Marie posted another TikTok video revealing the beautiful gown inside.

Marie is speechless and moved to tears as she tries on the stunning tulle magenta gown sent to her from her plus-size fashion icon.

The dress isn’t the exact dress that Lizzo wore to the award show, but its extremely similar and has the same diva energy. That was more than enough for Marie.
Marie ended her Cinderella-like story with a final TikTok from her hotel room, preparing for her event.
She claimed that she not only received a dress from Lizzo, but the plus-size superstar sent her a seamstress as well.
