A film that made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival this year, although I didn’t get to see it while I was there… Zach Godshall’s Lord Byron, described as a “Tragicomic Mind Melter.“

And when you look at the trailer below, you might understand why.

The film continues to play the festival and screening series circuit, with recent dates at the Atlanta Film Festival, reRun Theater in Brooklyn, NY, and in Lafayette, Louisiana .

It’ll return to NYC when it screens at the Hell’s Kitchen Film Festival this Saturday, September 3rd, 7:30pm, at the Producer’s Club Theater, on 358 West 44th Street.

I’m planning to attend this because I missed its first NYC screening back in May. And after I see it, my review will follow. Thus far, folks who I know who have seen it dug it, so I’m hopeful.

Synopsis reads:

Filled with a cast of eccentric characters, each pursuing dreams and missions of their own making, Lord Byron paints a kaleidoscopic portrait of the strange and lonely world of its title character, a middle-aged, late-20th century romantic who’s confused and torn about his own ambitions and desires.

So… expect something poetic and that revels in the artistic, intellectual, and social trends of what we call the Romantic era, during which the real Lord Byron existed – the latter half of the 18th century.
