Christian Louboutin’s ‘Nudes’ collection now includes ballet flats in shades for a variety of skintones.

Whether it’s trying to find the perfect foundation or that one bra that matches your skin tone, most women of color have all experienced the collective eye-roll or sigh while shopping for anything that involves the word nude or finding a shade that matches their skin. Since owning a nude shoe is a fashion staple, Louboutin has expanded its ballet flat collection so that more women can match their complexion.

The Solasofia ballet flat ($595) is made of a soft, flexible nappa leather that mimics the feeling of skin and covers seven nude hues. This is good news for the fashion world. While the shoes are expensive, it sends a message that more designers should follow. Hopefully, this will mean that more ballet flats in nude shades for women of color will appear on a much larger scale.
