Ever since Shawn and Marlon Wayans delivered endless laughs in the iconic film White Chicks, many have wondered when a sequel would hit theaters.
Though there’s been speculation that the famous brothers would transform into Brittany and Tiffany Wilson in a White Chicks 2, Marlon Wayans recently made it clear that a follow-up film likely won’t happen anytime soon.
1. Marlon Wayans says filming 'White Chicks' was 'hard'.
In a recent video for GQ Magazine, Marlon Wayans broke down the most iconic characters he’s played throughout his career.
During the video, the actor opened up about his role in the 2004 comedy film White Chicks.
Wayans and his brother Shawn played CIA agents (Marcus and Kevin) who go undercover as white women to solve a kidnapping plot.
2. The film remains one of Wayans' most iconic to date, having skyrocketed his fame and given the Wayans family an even bigger fanbase.
But despite the film’s popularity, Wayans says that shooting the movie wasn’t a walk in the park.
The actor explained in the video that it took “seven hours of makeup” for him and his brother Shawn to transform into Brittany and Tiffany Wilson. They would also spend countless hours shooting scenes.
“We’d work fourteen hours after that. It takes an hour to take the makeup off,” the actor explained. “Shawn and I would get two hours of sleep for like sixty-five days, or sixty days, and we still managed to hang out with our cast, and we still managed to write a series of books, and write ‘Thugaboo,’ which was an animated series. That was hard and almost killed us.”
3. Fan requests for 'White Chicks 2' is falling on deaf ears.
“Makeup movies — until they learn how to digitally do it, special effect-wise, ooh that’s a lot of work. Everybody says, ‘do a White Chicks 2’ I’m like, ‘go f—k yourself! You do a White Chicks 2,” Marlon Wayans said. “I’m doing Black man movies. That movie, as hard as it was, it was funny.”
“Anything where I didn’t have to get in that White Chick makeup was a great scene,” Wayans later added.
