Time magazine recognized Mary J. Blige as one of the 100 most influential people of 2022. The nine-time Grammy winner will grace one of the June 6/June 13 double issue covers that will be released Friday, according to All Hip Hop.

Nas penned the profile for the heavily revered Queen of Hip-Hop Soul. He noted how multifaceted Blige has become as her career progresses: The R&B singer has ventured into acting, garnering two Oscar nominations, and has launched her own wine brand.

“She carved out a lane for herself, and now she can feed the people more than just music. She has a lot more to offer, from her incredible acting career to her wine brand to the Strength of a Woman festival she just launched in Atlanta. And I feel like she’s just getting started. She’s who we wanted her to be, and even more. She became who she’s supposed to be,” he wrote
