More news from Comic-Con…
All you Game Of Throne fans, here's your first look at the cast of new faces you'll be seeing next season (the 3rd).
I'm placing the spotlight (for obvious reasons) on Nathalie Emmanuel, the sole face of *color* in the entire group. The bi-racial British actress will be playing child slave Missandei, who works as a translator for Kraznys in Astapor. I'm sure all of that means something to those who've been keeping up with the hit HBO series.
A little digging revealed that the 23 year old actress has done mostly TV in the UK, and may be best known for her role in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, which she was on from 2006 to 2010. She also appeared in one episode of Misfits, season 3.
So this may be Nathalie's highest-profile role to date (depending on how much screen time her character gets of course) giving her some international exposure.
I also happened to find a video clip of Nathalie talking about coming to realize her racial identity, which I think is worth watching. You'll find that clip underneath the video from HBO revealing the new cast members for next season's Game Of Thrones.
So, first, here's the video with the new cast members introducing themselves:
And here's the video with Nathalie talking about her heritage:
