Megan Thee Stallion opened up about being shot in a tearjerking interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings. A clip of the conversation has started to circulate on social media, and while Megan is being praised for her candor, one Twitter user criticized her.

During the interview, the rapper explained what happened the night of the shooting.

“It was an argument because I was ready to go, and everybody else wasn’t ready to go,” she told King, according to XXL Magazine. “But that’s like normal friend stuff, we fuss about silly stuff all the time. I never put my hands on anybody, I never raised my voice too loud, like this was one of them times where it’s like it shouldn’t have got this crazy.”

The “Plan B” rapper’s account of what happened sparked discourse on social media, with some sympathizing with the rapper and others still questioning her credibility.

One Twitter user threw shade at Megan, saying it was a double standard that the rapper can talk about the incident in interviews while Lanez is thrown in jail for doing so.

“Crazy how Meg gets to speak on whomever platform or song about the situation but tory or he goes to jail being its still an open investigation,” they wrote.

Megan clapped back at the hater in a since-deleted tweet, arguing that she should be allowed to share her truth.

“So A man can shoot me, chop up horse legs in music videos to taunt me, pay blogs to spread false information from what’s happening in court, record studio albums and make diss tracks… but when I talk to gayle king that’s the last straw.. F**K YALL,” she wrote, according to HipHopDX.

As Blavity previously reported, after Lanez referred to Megan and the incident on social media, a judge found that he was in violation of a discovery protective order and personal contact order. He was told, as a condition of his release, that he can’t “mention the complaining witness in this case in any social media.”
