Megan Thee Stallion delivered an emotional testimony when she appeared in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday for the second day of the trial involving Tory Lanez, who was also present in the room during the testimony.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 27-year-old rapper was tearful as she testified against Lanez, who she said shot her after an argument in 2020.
“I just don’t feel good,” Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, said when prosecutors asked her if she was too “nervous” to testify. “I can’t believe I have to come up here and do this.”
As she continued to fight tears, Megan said she wishes she didn’t have to go through the trial at all.
“I wish he would’ve just killed me if I knew I’d have to go through this,” the rapper said according to TMZ.
Still, Megan proceeded to recall the events of the night where she was allegedly shot.
The Grammy-winning artist said she remembers texting Lanez on that night to ask him come to the “small” gathering at Kylie Jenner’s home. When Lanez eventually arrived at the gathering, Megan said the only people remaining were herself and her friend Kelsey Harris, along with Jenner.
“My hair [wig] was starting to come off and I wanted to go,” Megan said, adding that Lanez “had an attitude because he wasn’t ready to leave the party.”
Megan, Harris and Lanez then decided to leave together, along with security guard Jauquan Smith, who had driven Lanez to Jenner’s house, according to the testimony.
Tensions escalated in the car when Lanez allegedly told Megan, “You need to stop lying to your friend” about their sexual relationship. Megan said she asked to be let out of the car after Lanez cursed at her and Harris, calling them “b***hes and hoes.”
After exiting the car on Sunset Boulevard, Megan said she realized she was “literally at the peak” of her career and only wearing a “thong [bikini]” in the middle of the “most famous” street in L.A. The “WAP” rapper said she then came back in the car and asked to be let out on another nearby side street.
“I started walking away and I hear Tory yell, ‘Dance, b***h!’” Megan said, adding that she saw Lanez pointing a gun at her. “I froze. I just felt shock. I felt hurt. I looked down at my feet, and I see all of this blood.”
Megan allegedly fell to the ground at that point and crawled to a nearby driveway.
“Everything feels blurry,” she said. “Tory was basically telling me I wasn’t s**t, and I said, ‘Actually, you ain’t s**t. This is where you at in your career. This is where you at with your music.’ And I feel like that really rubbed him the wrong way.”
L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta, one of the prosecutors on the case, asked Megan about her relationship with Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson.
“We used to hang out all the time,” Megan said.
She then added that the two had an “intimate” but “not exclusive” relationship.
On day one of the trial, prosecutors revealed evidence of texts that Harris sent after the alleged shooting.
As Blavity previously reported, Harris wrote, “Help[.] Tory Shot Meg[.] 911,” in a text to bodyguard Justin Edison at 4:27 a.m.
Lanez faces felony charges of assault with a firearm causing great bodily injury, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and concealing a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
