Megan Thee Stallion announced she’s taking a step back from music.
The “Hot Girl Summer” rapper told InStyle she plans to pump the breaks on her return to the mic. The Houston native also opened up to the outlet about her other projects and partnership with cosmetics giant Revlon.
“Fans can expect new music when I’m in a better place,” she said. “Right now, I’m focused on healing.”
She explained that the entertainment industry “can be a grind,” and to avoid burnout, taking time off is paramount.
“Life is all about balance,” she said.
The announcement may come as a shock to many. According to Vibe, Meg shared she was working on a new album earlier this year. The 28-year-old gave the news during a red carpet appearance shortly after testifying against Tory Lanez, who was later found guilty of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
In the meantime, the Houston native appears to be enjoying a new romance. She and Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku were spotted at his teammate Lautaro Martinez’s wedding in Lake Como, Italy. Photographs captured the rumored couple holding hands and sitting beside each other during the ceremony.
The “WAP” rapper’s most recent album, Traumazine, dropped in August. The album, featuring artists like Key Glock, Rico Nasty, Pooh Shiesty, Latto, Jhené Aiko and more, debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s 200 chart.
