A tense exchange took place between FOX News personality Megyn Kelly and Black Lives Matter activist DeRay McKesson when he appeared on Monday’s episode of The Kelly File to discuss the Edward Nero verdict.
Earlier that day, Nero was found not guilty on all charges related to Freddie Gray’s death. Nero is one of the five officers indicted in connection to his death.
When Kelly directs the conversation to a comment that the outcome of the trial was “biased and racist”, McKesson countered the comment stating that policies guarantee officers will not be held accountable for their actions. He said that laws need to be made so that police officers can be held accountable.
Kelly kept pressing McKesson, asking what did Nero do that was wrong and repeated that Nero had no contact with Gray. McKesson tells her that the verdict actually did say that Nero had involvement with the stop, but not the arrest. He says that there was no reason for Freddie Gray to have been stopped to begin with.
When DeRay asks Kelly if Freddie Gray should be dead, she says that it should not be illegal for cops to make poor judgment.
The two continue to go back and forth with DeRay focusing on the fact that Freddie Gray shouldn’t be dead and the law needs to be reviewed holistically, with Kelly continuing to ask what did Nero do specifically. She abruptly cut him off and ended the segment after he said the judge stated Nero was not obligated to intervene when he saw the other officers misbehaving.
Twitter watched right along with the debate.

Also, I wholeheartedly believe that "personalities" like Megyn Kelly are paid to be ridiculous.

@deray I couldn't finish that Megyn Kelly interview. No clue how you entertain that nonsense on live TV.
