When I first profiled this doc and its fundraiser, it was one of the most *liked* posts that week, and was shared countless times on Facebook, retweeted on Twitter, talked about, etc; and yet, despite ALL THAT excitement over it, and the idea of it actually becoming a completed reality, the campaign has only raised 10% of its goal, with less than 30 days to go.

I'd think that by now, it would be at least 50% funded. Can we turn all those *likes*, *shares*, tweets and retweets, comments, and all that excitement over the project into dollars… please?

Here's a project to get behind, if there ever was one!

A quick recap…

It's a feature documentary on the lives of Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, directed by their grandson, Muta'Ali Muhammad – the first of its kind ever! And don't they deserve one?

Titled Life’s Essentials with Ruby Dee, and described as "a documentary style film about Love, art and activism," the film will tell the life and love story of Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, for the first time, incorporating candid and revealing conversations and much more.

If you haven't seen the video pitch below, it's embedded again below, so watch it and hopefully be inspired.

And underneath that, you'll find a new clip from the project released via the project's Facebook page, featuring actor Mekhi Phifer talking about the couple as his inspiration.

And the after watching both clips, head on over to the project's Kickstarter page to contribute – the goal is to raise $50,000, with 29 days left in the campaign.

Just click HERE, or in the Kickstarter widget underneath the video, to be taken there.
