Ja Morant has caught the attention of NBA fans, but he captured the heart of one Miami-area waitress after he left her a generous tip, according to NBC Sports.

Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies point guard, was in a restaurant with his cohorts, FaceTiming with his daughter as he ate lunch.

After paying his bill, the basketball star blessed the waitress with a $500 tip, prompting her to inquire about his profession.

“Who are you, though,” she asked.

“The Black Jesus,” Morant quipped.

Unsatisfied with his answer, the waitress pressed if he was a professional athlete and then proceeded to ask Morant a series of questions.

When Morant told her that he plays in the NBA, she asked him which team.

Shock slowly descended on her face as a person off camera added to the conversation, “Your new favorite team.”

She asks his name, again, for clarification before running toward the back of the restaurant.

The happy exchange was filmed by Morant’s videographer, who goes by Shot by Nie on social media. The photographer also posts other videos about the NBA player on Morant’s YouTube page.

Morant signed a lucrative five-year rookie maximum extension with the Memphis Grizzlies, ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted. Morant will earn $193 million over five years, with the possibility of hitting $231 million, according to CBS Sports.
