Metro Boomin is giving Lil Uzi Vert flowers after the rapper accomplished a massive feat on the Billboard charts this week.

With the release of their new album, Pink Tape, the 27-year-old ended the longest gap between No. 1 rap albums on the Billboard 200 in the 21st century.

The album is the first No. 1 hip-hop album since Metro Boomin released Heroes & Villians 30 weeks ago in December 2022.

As AllHipHop reported, Pink Tape, which dropped on June 30, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album raked up an impressive 167,000 album-equivalent units in its first week and became the first rap release to top the Billboard 200 in 2023.

The producer shared Lil Uzi Vert’s good news on his Instagram Stories, sharing the tweet above with the handshaking emoji.

The duo has worked together before, and their partnership includes Metro Boomin producing Lil Uzi Vert’s 2016 track, “You Was Right.”

Like Pink TapeHeroes & Villains debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and earned a whopping 185,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. The placement marked Metro Boomin’s third No. 1 hit, following Not All Heroes Wear Capes in 2018 and 2020’s Savage Mode II with 21 Savage.

The 29-year-old has also made additional waves on the Billboard 200 this year with his Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack, which peaked at No. 5 last month. That project included Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Future, Lil Wayne, Offset and more.

Lil Uzi Vert has also had three No. 1 projects in his career. Along with Pink Tape, their album Luv Is Rage 2 dominated the Billboard 200 in 2017. As did Eternal Atake, which spent two weeks at the top of the charts in 2020.

The same year, his joint project with Future, Pluto x Baby, enjoyed a No. 2 placement on the Billboard 200.
