Metro Boomin, whose legal name is Leland Wayne, has been accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The artist’s attorney denied the accusations, according to AP News.

Vanessa LeMaistre, a 38-year-old woman, says she met Metro Boomin at a Las Vegas party in the spring of 2016. She “believed that they had bonded over the ability of music to help people in their darkest moments.” LeMaistre says she started a friendship with Metro Boomin after the death of her 9-month-old son.

Around September of that year, she visited the producer at a recording studio in California. The lawsuit alleges she was given a shot of alcohol and took half a bar of Xanax before blacking out.

“The next thing Ms. LeMaistre can recall is waking up on a bed in a different location with Wayne raping her and being completely unable to move or make a sound,” the lawsuit says, AP News reported. ”She was in and out of consciousness for an unknown amount of time but awoke again at some point to Wayne performing oral sex on her.”

LeMaistre found out she was pregnant weeks later as a result and had an abortion, the lawsuit adds.

“This is a pure shakedown. These are false accusations,” Lawrence Hinkle II, Metro Boomin’s attorney said in a statement on Wednesday. “Mr. Wayne refused to pay her months ago, and he refuses to pay her now. Mr. Wayne will defend himself in court. He will file a claim for malicious prosecution once he prevails.”

The producer is known for working on the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and his 2022 album Heroes & Villains was nominated for a Grammy for best rap album. He has worked with artists like Kendrick Lamar, 21 Savage and A$AP Rocky.
