Back in 2004, Kelly Rowland and Nelly had us all singing as if we were in romantic dilemmas, whether or not we truly we were. After the historic success of former music group Destiny’s Child, Rowland started branching out and finding new opportunities.

Many fans of the Atlanta native argue that year she created one of her most enduring — and meme-worthy — moments during a scene in the music video for “Dilemma,” the love ballad rap song by chart-topping rap star Nelly featuring Rowland. For years, fans have been tickled by the star using an early version of Microsoft Excel to send her “boo” a text message.

On Thursday, the creators of the groundbreaking data analysis software sent a more than fitting tribute to the trendsetting artist for her 40th birthday, drawing the appreciation of fans everywhere.

One fan tweeted that it was a beautiful way to honor the artist.

Another fan said it’s a fitting tribute because Rowland excels at just about everything she does.

Some supporters were shocked to see Microsoft’s software used as a text messaging platform, which the company confirmed was achievable through the service.

These days, Rowland is still growing her career and expanding her horizons. In the fall of 2018, the singer released a self-titled single called "Kelly." A year later, she collaborated with Dove to produce a single titled "My Crown," as a part of the company's #MyHairMyCrown campaign. The 40-year-old also appeared in Beyoncé’s Disney+ film Black Is King last year.

At this stage in her life, Rowland is also enjoying life as a mother. Last month, she welcomed a healthy baby boy named Noah Jon to her family. She posted pictures to her Instagram page on Wednesday of the newborn with cameos from her 6-year-old son, Titan Jewell.

In October, Rowland told People magazine that her 6-year-old was perhaps just as excited to have a little brother, but suggested that he may have to wait a while (or never) to get another sibling.

"I didn't know it was going to be like this the second time around, which makes it my last, that's for damn sure," she said.
